How far is the house from the beach?
One block. It’s about a 5-minute walk to the Lake Erie beach at Lakeview Park and its playground.
How far is the Jet Express to Put-in-Bay?
The Jet Express dock in downtown Port Clinton is about 0.9 miles away: a 15–20 minute walk or a few minutes’ drive. Miller Ferry on Catawba is about 15 minutes by car.
How many people does it sleep?
Up to 8 guests: a king, two queens and two single beds across 4 bedrooms, plus 2 full bathrooms.
Is it good for two families?
Yes. There are two bedrooms and a full bath on each end of the house, with the kitchen and living room in the middle.
Are pets allowed?
No pets, except service animals.
Is there parking?
Yes: free parking in the 2-car driveway plus free street parking.
Does the house have a lake view?
No. It’s named for Lakeview Park, one block away. The lake is a short walk, but it isn’t visible from the house.
Is there a fire pit and grill?
Yes: a fire pit, a propane grill and two picnic tables with umbrellas in the backyard. Bring firewood.
Is there a minimum stay?
Only in high season (May 30 – Sep 18, 2027): Thursday check-ins have a 3-night minimum and Friday check-ins a 2-night minimum. Other check-in days and other dates from May 17 to Oct 21, 2027 have no minimum stay. Late October through mid-May the house is reserved for medium-term stays (one month or longer). Interested? What is the cancellation policy?
High season (arrivals May 30 – Sep 18, 2027): full refund 60+ days before arrival, 50% of the nightly rate 30–59 days out, and no refund of the nightly rate inside 30 days. Off season: full refund 30+ days out, 50% 7–29 days out, and no refund inside 7 days. Cancel within 48 hours of booking for a full refund if arrival is 14+ days away. The cleaning fee is always refunded if you cancel before arrival.
Do you refund for bad weather or canceled ferries?
No. There are no refunds for bad weather, lake conditions, beach or water-quality advisories, or canceled ferries, boat trips, tours or any other excursions or activities. The only exception is a government order, such as a mandatory evacuation, that legally keeps you from staying. We strongly recommend travel insurance.
What taxes and payments apply when I book direct?
A 6% lodging tax (Ottawa County 3% + City of Port Clinton 3%) is added to the rent and the $235 cleaning fee. You pay 50% at booking by secure online payment, and the balance is charged automatically 45 days before arrival. If you book within 45 days of arrival, the full amount is due at booking.
What are check-in and checkout times?
Check-in is after 4:00 PM and checkout is by 10:00 AM. Self check-in uses a smart lock with a personal door code. No late checkout. Early check-in is available for an additional $50 when the calendar allows; request in advance.
